Compassion Delivered provides free, nutritional meals weekly to people who are coping with life-threatening illnesses and diseases on a weekly basis and to other members of the household. Each week participants receive three frozen entrees and two 16 oz. of homemade soups. We collaborate with community hospitals and nurse navigators to connect delivery services to those in need.
Since our start in 2017, we have packaged and delivered more than 20,000 meals to people fighting life-threatening illnesses. On average, we regularly serve 50 families weekly and we have served nearly 250 families in 2022. The unfortunate situation we face daily is the loss of our beneficiaries who succumb to their illnesses. When a client passes away, we stay with the family for 13 months to be a support for them either through food deliveries, emotional encouragement, or our men’s support group, Men of Compassion.
Our program currently serves residents of Stark County, Ohio and program need currently outweighs our capacity as awareness of the program continue to grow. Local hospitals including Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital and Aultman Hospital, have requested additional support beyond our financial means and we are limited to whom we can serve.
